How to Install the Dynamic Mustang LED Emblem

How to Connect the Wire for the Mustang LED Emblem

To connect the wire for the Mustang LED emblem, you have two methods:

Method One : Direct Connection to Daytime Running Lights:

  • There are two pins at the end of the LED emblem.
  • Plug the red pin into the positive (+) terminal of the daytime running wire.
  • Connect the black wire to the negative (−) terminal of the daytime running wire.
  • Using this method, you do not need to cut the pins.

Method Two: Connection to the Fuse Box:

Step 1: Find the Right Place to Connect the Red Wire

Locate the 10A/15A Fuse: Start by finding a suitable voltage plug. Then, identify the 10A /15A fuse in the fuse box. There are three 10A fuses, but we cannot specify which one is correct. You will need to test each one individually.

Testing the Fuses: Look for a fuse that receives power when the car is turned on and loses power when turned off. Remove that fuse.

Connect the Tap: Install the tap with the LED emblem onto the removed fuse, then reinsert the fuse back into the fuse box. This way, both the LED emblem and the fuse will receive power when the car is on or off.

There are pins at the end of our red wire. If you connect it to the tap, you can cut off our pin and use the wire to tap directly.

Step 2: Find the Right Place to Connect the Black Wire

To connect the black wire for grounding:

Locate a Suitable Grounding Point: Look for a metal component or bolt in the vehicle that is securely attached to the chassis. Common grounding points include:

  • Existing ground bolts near the fuse box
  • Bolts on the vehicle’s frame or body

Prepare the Connection: Clean the area where you will connect to ensure good contact.

Attach the Black Wire: Use a ring terminal or similar connector to attach the black wire to the chosen grounding point. Make sure it is secure and tight.

Test the Connection: Once the black wire is connected, you can test the LED emblem to ensure it functions correctly.

The difference between connecting the Mustang LED emblem to the fuse box versus the daytime running wire is significant in terms of functionality:

Connecting to the Daytime Running Wire:

  • When you connect the LED emblem to the daytime running wire, it will light up with an animation when you press your car’s key and then stay on. This provides a more dynamic effect and is generally more visually appealing.

Connecting to the Fuse Box:

  • If you connect the emblem to the fuse box, it will light up when you start your car and then remain on.
The emblem’s animation is permanent and will not be lost. Your chosen wiring method determines when the light activates:
Fuse Connection: The emblem will illuminate when you start your car.
DRL Wire Connection: The emblem will illuminate when you unlock your car (by pressing your car key).

The best effect is achieved by connecting to the daytime running wire, while the connection to the fuse box will result in a different lighting method altogether. If you need further clarification or assistance, feel free to ask!

Here is a reference video for installing your LED emblem. Even though the car in the video is different, the process of connecting it to the fuse box is identical, so you can follow these steps for your installation!
